What’s New & What stays

In addition to filming days for a daily series and the movie release of Eurotrash, which will be shown in Germany and Switzerland starting December, the rehearsals for her new play—which she developed together with her partner Michael Ehnert—turned into intense weeks spent repeatedly grappling with the question of how best to address relationship issues in the play’s content. The two have now been “relationship battle experts” on German stages for 15 years, and this is their third play together. The result, with the trailblazing title
“We Need to Talk!”
-in which the two place themselves in the hands of various couples therapists, is a vibrant and daring blend of political satire, wit, acting, and “crying with laughter”—as reported by audiences and newspaper reviews nationwide. A “humorous self-experiment in couples therapy from which the audience takes away a lot, spiced with biting wit and humor.”
“The fact that one can laugh so wonderfully at marital conflicts is unique on German stages.”
Jennifer is constantly on tour throughout German-speaking countries with two other plays: “Küss langsam—mit dir im falschen Film” as an english version with the groundbreaking title: “Kissin´ impossible” and “Zweikampfhasen,” both written by her husband, Michael Ehnert, translated by Jennifer. She also performs regularly on stage in her hometown of Hamburg.

“The Ehnerts can give impromptu lectures on the biological differences between the sexes, on the struggle for women’s rights, on the function—or rather, dysfunction of sex, about gender-specific communication deficits, and—with particular enthusiasm and in great detail—about the other’s faults—which, much to their surprise, always leads to yet another argument.”
No question about it: The Ehnerts need therapy!

“Scenes from a Marriage, eloquent and exceptionally tightly crafted; at times, the verbal agility, the sharpness, the bite, and the sophisticated wordplay are reminiscent of the screwball classics from Hollywood’s golden age.”

Winnetou’s sister, a saloon girl, a pirate’s bride riding side-saddle… Dream roles! Pure adventure: Up to 8,000 spectators, wasps crawling up your sleeve, skittish horses—and nerves of steel when everything around you is crashing and exploding. What can I say? I love it. Even when it’s hailing.

The “clip-clap” principle: Up to seven doors in a single set, lots of actors, numerous scene changes, props, and a barrage of punchlines. A fantastic time and a veritable timing boot camp featuring classic light comedies like *Boeing-Boeing*, wonderful fellow actors, and many, many doors.
